Our very successful Crawley Town Football Club is to get a new 2,000-seater stand, to increase ground capacity, following its great achievements in competition. The proposal was approved by Crawley Borough Council's Development Control Committee on 3rd January.
Capacity will treble to just under 6,000 people with the new East Stand Development. There will also be new floodlighting, toilet facilities, entry turnstiles and concession stalls.
The Reds have had great success on the pitch, notably reaching the fifth round of the FA Cup in February 2011, and taking on Manchester United. Success of this magnitude means that there is a need to increase capacity and facilities to meet Football League requirements.
Crawley Borough Council is a key partner and supporter, as the owner of Broadfield Stadium.
