Henry Smith MP has received assurances from the Chairman of Stonegate Pubs that, contrary to recent reports, The Railway in Southgate, formerly known as The Rocket, will not lose its place in Crawley’s heritage as a live music venue.
Henry said;
"I was concerned that Crawley’s historic live music venue pub, where bands like The Cure have played, was threatened with being turned in to a restaurant.
“I made a direct approach to the Chairman of Stonegate Pubs and am pleased that he has reassured me that there will be no plans for the Railway to become a gastro-pub and lose its place as an important live music venue when it’s refurbished later this year.”
