Henry Smith MP has welcomed news that crime across the Sussex Police area, which covers Crawley, is falling.
The latest figures from the Office for National Statistics show recorded crime in Sussex has fallen by 12 per cent since 2010.
Henry said;
"Through tougher sentencing, and allowing the police to get on with fighting crime, this Government's action plan to tackle crime is having the right effect. This includes tackling taking on the root causes of crime.
"Through the establishment of the Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner, the police are directly accountable to the public, without having an effect on operations.
“It is also reassuring to see that crime measured by the independent Crime Survey has fallen by 25 per cent since 2010.”
