Henry Smith MP has welcomed the latest figures from a Government scheme that provides assistance to unemployed people starting their own business.
Since the start of the New Enterprise Allowance in April 2011, up to September 2014; 90 people throughout Crawley have started working with a business mentor, while 40 have formed their business, left benefits, and started receiving the weekly Allowance.
Henry said;
“I am pleased to see the New Enterprise Allowance is having an effect in our town.
“It is giving people who want to get on in life the chance to succeed. Having been unemployed myself, I am well aware of the challenges. It is great that 40 people have come off benefits, and have started trading as a result of the Allowance.
“Through initiatives such as the New Enterprise Allowance, and the Start Up Loans scheme, this Government is helping aspiring business people make a difference to the community.”
