Henry Smith MP has given his support to the fifth national Trustees' Week, which runs from Monday 10th to Sunday 16th November, and has thanked all those throughout the town who give up their time to help others.
Henry said;
“Trustees' Week is a great way for us all to say thank you to the people who give up their time for the benefit of others by assisting charities throughout Crawley.
“There are 136 voluntary organisations in the town, and around 800 trustees. I am grateful to them for their time, effort and dedication in serving our local community.”
Trustees’ Week 2014 is being organised by the Charity Commission, in partnership with a number of other organisations.
Sir Stuart Etherington, Chief Executive of the National Council for Voluntary Organisations, commented;
“Trustees’ Week is a great opportunity for us to recognise and celebrate trustees and the valuable contribution they make to our society. They play a vital role, volunteering their time and working together to make important decisions about the charity's work. Good governance is at the very heart of an effective charity.”
Henry continued;
“If I am ever able to assist Crawley voluntary group, please either write to me at the House of Commons, London, SW1A 0AA, or email me via [email protected]”
