Henry Smith MP has put on his Father Christmas outfit early this year to raise awareness of Wear a Santa Suit Day, which takes place on Friday 12th December, in aid of Chestnut Tree House.
Henry said;
“I am looking forward to going about my duties as Crawley’s MP on Wear a Santa Suit Day dressed up as Father Christmas – all to raise awareness for the fantastic work of Chestnut Tree House, the only children’s hospice in the whole of Sussex.
“My aim is to get people interested in Chestnut’s vital work. A couple of years ago, I took part in two of their Santas on the Run events around Crawley, even joined by my nine year old daughter one year!
“I have set up a JustGiving page to play my own small part in helping Chestnut raise funds this year. Myself, and the staff at the hospice, would be grateful for any donations people are able to make – please give if you can via www.justgiving.com/HenrySantaSuit.”
Earlier this week, Henry was photographed in Westminster Hall, in his full Santa Suit, to help raise awareness for the event on 12th December.
Terrina Barnes, Corporate Fundraiser at Chestnut Tree House, said;
“Wear a Santa Suit Day is a simple and fun way of helping Chestnut Tree House and we would like even more people to get involved this year so we have a sea of Santas right across Sussex.
“We are delighted that Henry Smith MP has decided to don his Santa suit this year and are looking forward to seeing the photos of him at the Houses of Parliament and out and about in London and Sussex.”
