Henry Smith MP has taken the chair at the latest meeting of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Animal Welfare (on Tuesday, 15th September), for the first time since being elected.
Henry said;
“I was delighted to help lead the discussion on various aspects of animal welfare. As a long-time campaigner for greater protection for animals I’m aware of the responsibility of chairing the Group and I will continue to stand up for people in Crawley who are equally concerned about this important issue.
“One of the issues covered was the effectiveness of the Hunting Act, and I was pleased to see MPs from all sides continue to support this legislation.
“After the meeting, I was honoured to meet Chief Petty Officer Allen Parton, the founder of Hounds for Heroes, an organisation which provides assistance dogs to disabled members of our Armed Forces and Emergency Services.”
