Henry Smith MP has contacted schools in Crawley about a learning resource which provides information on the Armed Forces.
Henry said;
“Ahead of Remembrance Sunday, I have written to schools about this year’s British Armed Forces Learning Resource.
“I hope that this information is proving useful for schools across our town, and I have asked schools to let me know how they have found using the resource in recent months.”
The pack includes background information, views and different perspectives from many longstanding members of the Armed Forces and includes lesson ideas, areas for discussion and links to other publications and information.
It will enable teachers to understand the vital role that the Armed Forces have played in shaping the world we live in and why they still matter now and in the future.
Henry continued;
“People across our town are showing how grateful they are to our Armed Forces, From the borough council’s Heroes Walk to Crawley Town FC donating free tickets, our local community is aware of the sacrifices made for our freedoms.
“Given the importance of our Armed Forces, and they role they continue to play at home and abroad, I welcome the opportunity for our young people to learn more.”
