Henry Smith MP met with the British Heart Foundation at the Conservative Party Conference in Birmingham earlier this month, and reiterated his support for their work.
An estimated 11,000 Crawley residents are living with cardiovascular disease; Henry was keen to hear from the BHF about how UK research remains world-class so the charity are able to continue making lifesaving discoveries.
Henry said;
“Medical research is one of the UK’s strongest assets, improving the lives of patients, both at home and around the world, and generating significant returns for the UK economy. This is thanks to a team effort, with investment from the Government supporting funding from charities such as the BHF.
“We need to protect our world-class research environment if we are to prevent, diagnose and treat devastating conditions like cardiovascular disease in Crawley.”
